For My Mother, and For You

Over the last 5 years I’ve been honored to hear your stories of strength and vulnerability, and today I’d like to share one with you.

When my mother was living in India in her youth, she nearly died from a UTI. Not because the condition was rare or incurable — but because no one had given her the basic education, tools, or support to understand what was happening in her own body, or what she needed to get better.

More recently, she spent nearly a year of her life on pause—battling extreme fatigue, hot flashes, and vaginal health challenges as she entered menopause—suffering in silence due to stigma, inadequate medical support, and systemic gaps in our healthcare system. She once again had to navigate deeply personal challenges without the care or support she deserved.

So many of us have been in the painful and paralyzing position of watching a loved one struggle without knowing what to do to help. It was the number one motivator for why I helped start Kindra.

My mom is one of the strongest, most incredible women I know. She immigrated to the US in her 20s and worked hard to raise a family with courage, grace, and resilience — even when her own health took a turn for the worse.

No one should have to navigate their health alone. That’s why at Kindra, we fight for better access to care, educate thousands of providers on how to support women through vaginal and hormonal changes, and strive to make our products as accessible and effective as possible.

It's for our moms, it's for your moms, it's for you.

So today, I want to say thank you. To my mother, for showing me what strength looks like. To the Kindra community, for being on this journey with us. And to every woman who’s ever had to suffer in silence — we see you, and we’re here for you.

Warmly,

Afshan

Co-CEO, Kindra
