Dear Kindra Community,
Did you know April 23rd is World Vagina Appreciation Day? I’m betting Google Calendar isn’t exactly shouting this from the rooftops - so I will! At Kindra, we are making noise about this holiday for a very good reason - and I’d love for you to help us reach as many people as we can - in the name of women’s health.
It’s 2022, there are billionaires in space, yet 73% of women still don’t know the difference between the vagina and the vulva. As women, we are not accurately referencing our own anatomy and we are feeling unfamiliar with our own bodies - a direct result of centuries of censorship. So, on World Vagina Appreciation Day, we are launching our Know Yourself, #VYourself campaign. The mission is simple yet critical: to inform, empower, and raise awareness for an accurate understanding of the female anatomy. Understanding our anatomy is critical in getting the health and wellness care we need and deserve, especially as we age. It’s up to us, as a brand who champions women’s aging health, to be advocates on this holiday and always - to challenge current norms and destigmatize using the proper definition of Vagina and Vulva in the media channels we interact with daily.
Inspiration for the campaign stemmed, in part, from the research and development of our newly launched V Relief Serum. Kindra’s community has made it clear - they are feeling nervous to discuss their menopausal symptoms, especially vulvar and vaginal dryness and discomfort, whether it is to seek relief on their own, or to bring it up to their physicians. Body literacy is informative, impactful, and empowering - allowing us to ask for the support we need, seek the right solutions, and feel our best selves.
We chose the letter “V” in our new product name instead of Vagina or Vulva, because we face rejection and censorship when we use these anatomical words - even in a caption. Instead of giving in, we found our way around it, pushing forward with a campaign to reach as many people as we can. We are intent - centuries of censorship that has led to misinformation that impacts a woman’s health is not acceptable.
Will you join us on our Know Yourself #VYourself social challenge, to bring awareness to this important issue that affects over half of the population?
Participating and making a difference is as easy as 1, 2, V...
-
Snap a selfie with your fingers in a “V” or “peace sign” pose (palm facing out!) ✌️
-
Caption it with your V. Like: V Strong, V Dry, V Good Sex, V Powerful. Hashtag your photo with #VYourself.
-
Post! And tag a few friends to participate.
Participation is power. We chose the letter “V” in our new product name instead of Vagina or Vulva, because we face rejection and censorship when we use these anatomical words - even in a caption. So, this is our way to make sure we can share our solutions and are working with our friends to launch this campaign. Even today, we are censored when trying to support women’s changing bodies. Let’s help put an end to that!
Remember what I always say. You are not alone. We are Kindra. Today and everyday.
Truly,
