Let’s talk about menopause, together.
Join us to change the way that we think and talk about menopause, so that we can carry it forward and say “This is not something we need to keep in the shadows”. Couch Conversations do just that — they create space for us to listen to one another and talk passionately and personally about shared experiences we have historically been encouraged NOT to share. Our collective words can provide support, knowledge and encouragement. Together, we can break stigmas that get in the way of educating ourselves and start a movement to redefine menopause.
OUR LATEST EVENT
GLORIA STEINEM & MENOPAUSE IN THE MEDIA
Moderated by Karen Finney, our latest Couch Conversations focused on menopause in the media and raising awareness in writers' rooms. We at Kindra think a lot about menopause and we know that peri/menopausal women do too but we don’t see those experiences reflected back to us in characters on screen and on the page. So, we gathered some of the industry’s most influential women to talk about it and make a change.
“Women over 50, represent 20% of the population, yet share just 8% of on-screen time.”
— Nielsen Study

FROM THE COMMUNITY
“Such a great idea! Many of my clients mother’s struggle with their changing bodies as their own children go through menopause. This would be a wonderful addition to my practice, as well as for myself and my sisters and cousins.”
— Erika Leigh Maier
“I love this. I am a yoga teacher and have had the idea to do a group for menopause for 3 years now and then covid happened. I was thinking of starting it again after my two friends and I had an open conversation about all the changes we have been navigating the past 2 years. Thank you for the ideas in this story. I am putting together my invite tonight.”
— Teresa Hind
“I love this! I am gathering a group of women online to discuss cronehood next weekend. Your discussion prompts will guide future online gatherings.”
— Tracie J Sweeney
